Yea Canada

The opening ceremony of the Vancouver Olympics tonight was fantastic! The program was artistically high-tech but moving. I think the Canadians did an unbelievable job = for less than 10% of the cost of the Beijing Olympics opening. The only part that I didn't enjoy was the slam poet. I've never understood slam poetry anyway - it has all the charm of hip hop. The rest of the ceremony was breathtaking but my favorite bits were the whales moving across the stadium and k.d. lang, the flying prairie boy and the mountains.
